About Will Greaves

Dr. Will Greaves is an Associate Professor of International Relations at the University of Victoria, specializing in global politics and security, climate and energy issues, Canadian foreign policy, and Arctic studies.

Dr. Greaves leads climate change and security initiatives with three federally funded research networks: the North American and Arctic Defence and Security Network (NAADSN), the Canadian Defence and Security Network (CDSN), and the Réseau d’Analyse Stratégique (RAS). His research has been supported by the Department of National Defence, Global Affairs Canada, the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council, and the University of Victoria.

Will is running “to ensure that the local values and interests of Victorians are represented in the next federal government and that our community has an effective voice in Ottawa. I hope that Victorians will see that the best way to secure federal support for our community is by having an MP in government instead of the fourth place party in Parliament.

We need to protect the progress that Canada has made on key issues like protecting the environment, building more housing in the right places, and investing in core social programs and public services.

At the same time, we must face the new challenges before us related to Trump’s trade war, threats against our sovereignty, and global instability. It’s a time of serious challenges and I am committed to offering serious leadership that defends the residents of Victoria.”
